  • Birthday Lunch with Friends

I missed the birthday lunch with my bride.  Best friends stepped in to cheer my day.  I started planning about 10 o'clock this morning.  Wednesday is $5 martinis at my favorite restaurant Yia-Yia's.  The day gets busy and I called in a reservation about 30 minutes before we got there.  They really took care of me.  The wait was 40 minutes when we arrived but the banquet room was opened and we were seated immediately.

Kyle brought Christmas stockings she made for a client.  Yia-Yia's staff made sure the client found her way to the back room to make the purchase.  As Kyle held up the stockings, other guests looked up and admired the stockings.

Steve, Richard, Kyle, and Cindy.  Bartender Zach recognized our martini orders and knew we were there.  Thank you Wella for taking the picture.

On our way in from the parking lot, Wichita PD was out for a stroll.  I knew the horse patrol was used in the downtown bar area.  Seeing them at an East side up-scale mall was surprising and pleasant.

Étienne was too timid to walk up and say hi.  I see first hand why horses are so effective at crowd control.  Cars stopped, kept their distance, and I stood back with respect.  Those horses are very big!  I offered to buy them lunch, they said the horses eat way more than I can afford.

This picture shows why we disconnect all hoses from their spigots during sub-zero weather.

Does this classify as a stalagmite?
