The little frenchman turned six today! All three kids were signed up for Scope, which is the Wichita school district's summer classes for gifted students and their siblings. Our friend Cindy sent her son Daniel as well. Excited Daniel, and Carl-the-Pill:
Apprehensive Étienne, and Veronica & her friend Chloe:
At Étienne's request, yesterday I made him a chocolate birthday cake, and he got to lick the bowl.
After Scope, Cindy took Daniel & Carl, and Steve took Veronica, Étienne, and Étienne's friend Brendan to the Museum of World Treasures. This has always been one of my favorite Wichita museums, a cross between a natural history museum, political history museum, and your grandparent's basement. When the museum heard that today was his actual birthday, they assigned a docent to their group, and they got a personalized tour, complete with touching things.
Brendan and Étienne next to a cast of a T-Rex femur:
Brendan, Étienne, and Veronica by a piece of the Berlin Wall:
Freaked out by a real mummy:
They came home, and we had pizza for dinner. Six candles on Étienne's birthday cake!
Opening presents. Cindy's daughter Wella unrolls an Avengers poster to much oohs & ahhs:
Grandma Nancy sent a Scooby Doo game for the GameCube!
